Beyond the Rhetoric: Building an Inclusive Culture from the Top Down

  • Clean Inc., 6601 Six Forks Road, Suite 400 Raleigh, NC, 27615 United States (map)

When Diversity & Inclusion Lead, Corporate Executives Succeed. Corporate executives who authentically pursue a culture of inclusion yield substantial returns above the competition. While the Triangle continues to emerge as one of the top destinations for business, talent recruitment and innovation, an appreciation for diversity and inclusion should be prioritized and institutionalized as well.

On October 25th at 4:00pm Clean Inc., will host the Triangle Diversity Business Council to discuss:

  • Creating a culture of inclusion that starts with the CEO

  • Cultivating organizational capacity to appreciate D&I

  • Securing executive buy-in and prioritization of D&I efforts

Supplemental Research & Background:

  • Authentic CEO Buy-in - Harvard Business Review: Task Rabbit/CBC Tech 2020

    • “We want to set a standard for what it means to feel like you’re in a diverse environment, feel like you could always be your authentic self, Task Rabit CEO, Brown-Philpot said, acknowledging the company’s place in a broader cultural and political landscape. “I share my experience as a black woman, and i invite people to talk if they’re feeling hurt or pain…. It’s being willing to talk about the real things happening right now that might be impacting someone’s ability to show up at work like they would every other day.”

  • Why Diversity Programs Fail, Harvard Business Review

    • “The task force got each office to monitor the career progress of its women and set its own goals to address local problems. When it became clear that the CEO and other managing partners were closely watching, McCracken wrote, “women started getting their share of premier client assignments and informal mentoring.”

  • CEO Action on Diversity & Inclusion

    • “CEOs across the country understand this isn’t a competitive issue, but a societal issue, and together we can raise the bar for the entire business community. By sharing best known actions and programs, we are helping to create a more inclusive environment that will encourage all of us to bring our greatest talents, perspectives, and experiences to the workplace.”

Together, We can help our partners authentically grow and develop diverse and inclusive.
